The primary race for Minneapolis Mayor is between Reverend DeWayne Davis, Current Mayor Jacob Frey, current State Senator Omar Fateh, and CEO Jazz Hampton. The three challengers are actually setting up a new slate, asking voters to not rank Jacob Frey. I would say that the person I personally want to see in the city is Reverend DeWayne Davis. I like that he seems so approachable. I also know a lot of good stuff from Senator Fateh, but my opinion is that we need him more in the state senate. That's where we would need him, in my opinion.
I personally would want to see a change in the Mayor's office. I believe that Mayor Frey is one of the primary reasons Uptown is struggling. The amount of focus Mayor Frey is putting on Downtown is causing him to overlook the rest of the city.
One candidate that is not polling that high but was at the DFL convention is Brenda Short.
